Arbitration in Iraq is governed by Articles (251 to 276) of the Code of Civil Procedures No.83 of 1969 hereinafter called for short the ("CCP"). The CCP does not discriminate between international and domestic arbitration, which applicable to domestic and foreign arbitral proceedings in commercial disputes.

 

Iraq is not a party to the New York convention for Enforcement and Recognition of Foreign Arbitral Awards nor to any other international convention concerning enforcement of foreign judgments, except those concluded between the members of the Arab League and a few bilateral agreements.
